Blackshaw Food Network / Great Rock Coop

Blackshaw Food Network, which was formed in 2009 to support local food, evolved into the Great Rock Coop. (Click here for their website)
Great Rock Co-op opens every Saturday from 10am until 2pm at  Staups Lea Farm just outside Blackshaw Head.   The shop opened in April 2013, aiming to link local producers and consumers, support small, high quality, authentic local food and craft businesses, make the local economy more resilient whilst cutting food miles and strengthening local community links.

Most of our stock comes from within a 10 mile radius including pork, lamb and beef and eggs from farms on our doorstep, Pextenement and Tenacre cheeses from down the hill, Luddenden Valley wines, Bridestones and Little Valley ales,  homemade baking and preserves from our near neighbours – to name but a few. We also sell fantastic arts and crafts made by talented locals, plus coffee and dry staples, (not so locally made but always fairly traded and ethically produced).

As a not-for-profit Co-op, our earnings go back into the business or to other community projects. We’re a friendly bunch so how about joining us?
  • Would you like to have a say in how we run by becoming a member?
  • Would you like to volunteer in the shop or behind the scenes?
  • Do you make, bake, grow or rear good local food which we could sell?
